Victoria Beckham wowed last night in an avant garde polka-dot dress by her friend Marc Jacobs. Victoria was one of several celebrities to attend the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitian Museum of Art. This year’s theme for the extravagant event was “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” and doubled as the opening for a MoMA exhibit of the same name.

Marc Jacobs is sponsoring the MoMA exhibit and celebrated by bringing tons of his friends and muses to the party, including Rihanna and Anne Hathaway.

I enjoy the dress, it’s quirky and daring, but the shoes put it over the top. I’d like to have seen something simpler on her feet to really make the dress the statement. What about you?

It’s official - Victoria Beckham is expected to attend the Costume Institute Gala in New York City on May 4th. Victoria is expected to attend as a guest of Marc Jacobs, Fashion Week Daily is reporting. This should come as no surprise and Victoria and Marc are quite good friends. She represented him at last year’s CFDA Awards and appeared in his ad campaign last year.

Marc is bringing along quite a posse. When asked who would be his companion at his dinner table, he listed a who’s who of Hollywood.

“Madonna…Victoria Beckham…I’m trying to think, now I can’t remember!” he said. “Anne Hathaway…Winona [Ryder]…Rachel Feinstein, John Currin…and Rihanna!”

Can you imagine sitting at that table? It would be an extraordinary night!

In the upcoming issue of the Berdorf Goodman magazine, Victoria Beckham sits down with designer pal Marc Jacobs. The two of them chat about everything from Marc’s nude shoot with Harper’s Bazaar to the tabloid fascination with the Beckhams.

WWD was lucky enough to get a preview of what I’m sure is going to be an amazing read!

“They’ve done this horrible thing, Victoria,” Jacobs said about the now infamous nude shoot. “They’ve airbrushed me, so I look like a Ken doll.”

As for the paparazzi fascination, Victoria has a pretty good attitude about it all.

“The problem is, when you are well-known in the tabloids, and you’re trying to break into a new industry, it makes it very difficult, because people get preconceptions, and so everybody thinks that I am a miserable bitch who goes shopping every day,” she said.

We know this isn’t true, Victoria!

The Berdorf Goodman magazine comes out four times a year. It’s available only to US residents, either in store or via subscription.

After watching the Marc Jacobs fashion show and showing off her own collection of dresses, Victoria Beckham decided it was time to celebrate. She and good pal Marc Jacobs first hit up the Waverly for some dinner before heading to the B. Bar Grill Cafe for a few post-dinner drinks.

Victoria Beckham looked stunning in a quirky Marc Jacobs dress at the CFDA Awards last night. Victoria was there to represent Marc as a nominee for Womenswear Designer of the Year and co-presented the award with Eva Mendes, who was representing Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who was representing Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler.

Sadly, Marc and Victoria lost. The 2008 winner was Francisco Costa. I loved his collections this year and it’s a well-deserved win! Congrats Francisco!

She will be presenting the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award alongside Eva Mendes and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The nominees for the award are Marc Jacobs, Francisco Costs for Calvin Klein and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez for Proenza Schouler.
