David Beckham’s Malaria No More UK Commercial
April 22, 2009 by Erin Balser
As part of the official launch of Malaria No More UK, David Beckham filmed a commercial for the non-profit.
Malaria No More UK is dedicated to raising awareness about malaria and also to provide bed nets to families ad children in high-risk areas. It’s goal is to make sure everyone who is at risk for malaria has a net by the year 2010.
In the commercial, David talks about how he practices free kicks all the time. It’s a big reason why he’s a soccer superstar today. The video quite wittily connects this to the Malaria No More UK campaign, but I’ll let you watch it and see for yourself.

David Beckham’s Motorola AURA Ad
April 17, 2009 by Erin Balser
David Beckham and Motorola channeled the Terminator in the latest ad for the new AURA phone. The AURA is the ultimate luxury phone. You can watch a sleek promo video to learn all about the phone at their website.
“Motorola always seem to come up with something different, a concept that no one else has, and they’ve certainly done that again with AURA.” David said about the new phone. “I love classic watches, so a phone that exposes its mechanics while also being so stylish is really unique. When you hold it, it feels like you have something really special in your hand.”
Here’s a behind the scenes look at the making of the AURA ad. David talks about why he likes working with Motorola and why he likes their products. The video shows a bit of how they turned David into the Terminator.
Here’s a promo video for the AURA phone featuring David. It’s honestly a bit creepy, but very high tech and stylish.
It will be interesting to see if this ad campaign works. What do you think of it? Is the futuristic take going to pull consumers in? Or is it just silly to launch a luxury phone in the middle of a recession?

David Beckham Plays Ball with Kevin Garnett
February 27, 2009 by Erin Balser
Both David Beckham and Kevin Garnett are spokespeople for Adidas. Both were in the ads for the Adidas Originals, where lots of celebrities and sports stars attended a house party.
The day that series of commercials were filmed, David and Kevin enjoyed some bonding time as they challenged each other to a basketball-football hybrid game. Adidas thought the clip was so much fun, they released it to the public.
The pair seem to have a really good time in the video, which is great. I love Adidas and this current ad campaign and it’s nice to see those in it enjoy being a part of it.
