David Beckham was one of the participants in the Closing Ceremonies of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, as they passed the Olympic Torch over to London, who will host the 2012 games. David’s participation was brief and simple–he was escorted by a child onto the field and kicked a soccer ball into the stadium! The crowd went insane as everyone scrambled to get the ball for themselves. It looks like David is a superstar in China too!

According to David’s blog, he was honored to participate in the closing ceremonies. It was amazing to watch on television–I can’t even imagine how awe-inspiring it must have been to be there in person!

David Beckham was spotted at the LAX airport with the rest of the Los Angeles Galaxy after they traveled to San Jose to play the San Jose Earthquakes on June 14. The Galaxy defeated the Earthquakes 3-0. David had an assist, as the Galaxy scored in the first six minutes of the game.

David doesn’t look to happy in this picture and according to sources, he rushed out of the airport with his bodyguard and caught his limo alone instead of waiting for the rest of the team. I hope everything’s alright and he just wanted to get home to his family to spend Father’s Day with them.

David Beckham and son Brooklyn were on hand for Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Lakers and the Celtics. The Lakers won the game, 103-98, making the series 3-2 for the Celtics. It’s been an exciting series all around and a great introduction to basketball for the young Beckhams.

David and Brooklyn were really sweet during the entire game, laughing and joking a lot. It must have been a great Father’s Day for David, spending time with his son and seeing his favorite (non-football!) team win a crucial game!

David Beckham VN has some nice photos of David Beckham getting some Starbucks to go. He’s wearing sunglasses and never leaveshis car, but he still looks good!

David Beckham took sons Brooklyn and Romeo to see the Los Angeles Lakers play the New Orleans Hornets. Both Brooklyn and Romeo were decked out in LA Lakers gear and looked like they were having a good time. It’s way too cute!

After the game, David hung out with LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant backstage. I think I like this friendship between David and Kobe–both are super famous athletes with young families, so I’m sure they have a lot to talk about! I also think it’s great David took his boys to the game. I absolutely loved basketball growing up and professional basketball games are a really fun event–and they have a very different atmosphere from soccer games!

On Tuesday, David Beckham was pulled over by the police. He made an illegal left turn on Fairfax and Sunset, which resulted in $160 fine and one point against him on his lisence.

According to an onlooker, “David was really cooperative. I think he knew he was in the wrong.”
