Rumor: Victoria Beckham Not Attending Mel B’s Wedding

November 4, 2008 by Erin Balser

Spice Girl Mel B is getting married this weekend in an extravagant Egyptian-themed ceremony. There will be several days of festivities, including a scavenger hunt and a boat ride in the Red Sea. However, none of her fellow Spice Girls, including Victoria Beckham are expected to attend, the Press Gazette is reporting.

The rumors are that Mel B is receiving nearly $500,000 from OK magazine for pictures of the ceremony, so Mel is keen to make sure as many celebrity friends as possible are there so OK gets their money’s worth. There’s no word as to why no Spice Girls will be at the ceremony, which is too bad I’d love to see all the girls together again!

Mel B and Victoria Beckham Not So Close

September 3, 2008 by Erin Balser

Fellow Spice Girl Melanie Brown revealed to Closer magazine this week that she and Victoria Beckham are not the best of pals. They’re not enemies or anything, but rather, she’s frustrated by the assumption that the two hang out all the time simple because they both live in LA.

Melanie Brown Promotes 'Ultimo' At Debenhams

“Victoria and I are very different,” Mel B told the magazine. “People bracket us together because we live in the same city and we’re both interested in fashion.”

That’s totally understandable. What I love about this is how the gossip universe has decided this means the two gals hate each other. I didn’t get that from that quote. Did you?

Spice Girls Have Highest Grossing Concert of 07/08

Forbes has announced that the Spice Girls had the highest grossing concert of the 07/08 season–beating out Prince, the Police and Bon Jovi to score the top spot.

Spice Girls Open Virgin Atlantic's New Terminal at Heathrow

Their take for the three-month tour, which included 17 sold-out dates in London’s O2 stadium? $33 million dollars.

I was lucky enough to attend their show in Toronto, and it was absolutely amazing! Kudos to the girls on their last tour ever!

David and Victoria Beckham are Influential

June 12, 2008 by Erin Balser

Forbes released their list of the top 200 most influential celebrities this week. David Beckham clocked in at #5 whereas wife Victoria was #50 as part of the Spice Girls.

Why was David’s ranking so high? Forbes cites his money-earning power and his many merchandising deals with Sharpie, Giorgio Armani and more.

The Spice Girls made the list thanks to their record-breaking reunion tour.

Rounding out the top five were Oprah, Tiger Woods, Angelina Jolie and Beyonce Knowles.

This year was an extraordinary year for the Beckhams. It will be interesting to see where they fall next year, once they’ve been in the States for a few years, the newness of David in the MLS has worn off and the Spice Girls are long gone.

Victoria Beckham to Sell Spice Outfits for Charity

May 11, 2008 by Erin Balser

According to the Daily Mirror, Victoria Beckham will be putting her Spice Girl reunion tour outfits on auction. The proceeds will go to the David and Victoria Beckham Children’s Foundation, which works to help children in need.

Victoria is hoping that the outfits, which were designed by Robert Cavalli, will fundraise over $2 million for charity.

“I love all the outfits - for the memories they hold and for how beautiful they are,” Victoria has said. “But there has been a lot of interest in them and I want to harness that for the charity.”

I think this is a great idea. It will give fans something special to remember the tour by (that is, the fans who can afford it!) and will help needy children in Britain.

As for the exact details of the auction, they have yet to be determined.

“Victoria is putting together various ideas for the sale. She would consider offers from individuals - for the right price,” a spokesperson for the charity said. “It’s time for any high rollers out there to get their chequebooks out.”

Spice Girls Will Not Release Tour DVD

April 5, 2008 by Erin Balser

I think this is very sad news for fans around the world. The Spice Girls will not be releasing a DVD of their reunion world tour, they wrote on their official website on Wednesday.

“Sadly there will not be a DVD release of the 47-date tour,” the post says, “but the girls hope you were all left with some fantastic personal memories of the show.”

They do realize that a DVD would enable fans who could not make it to the show a chance to see it? And that the DVD would probably sell very well. But I guess someone crunched the numbers and decided it wasn’t worth it.

Why do you think there will be no DVD?

Spice Girls Say Goodbye

February 27, 2008 by Erin Balser

spice girlsThe Spice Girls updated their blog with a special goodbye message for their fans.

Here’s what they had to say:

Hello…

Our time is up… we’ve come to the end of the road… there are tears of both sadness and joy. Look how far we’ve come!

Who would have thought that our reunion could have turned out to be this amazing? It just shows what can grow out of an exciting thought, an idea, a hope, a dream. Yes, our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true.

We have been lucky enough to have shared it with the most loyal fans in the world. Ten years on, you came back still wanting more… and it looks like we made some new friends along the way. You have inspired and ignited us with each show, the 47 that we performed, each time was amazing and it is thanks to you.

So we look to the future with hope and imagination and let Girl Power live on through all of you as it will continue in us and the future generations to come.

We have learnt so much through you and through each other.

“Never give up on the good times always believe in the love you find.”

We hate goodbyes but sadly the time has come to take our final bow so maybe our song says it best:

“Goodbye my friend, it’s not the end… So glad we made it, time will never ever change it… ”

Mission Accomplished…

Love

Emma, Geri, Mel B, Melanie C and Victoria
xxxxx

I hope they had fun!
