Behind the Scenes of David & Victoria’s Armani Shoot
July 8, 2009 by Erin Balser
Emporio Armani released a video yesterday that looks behind the scenes of the shoot for David and Victoria Beckham’s latest Emporio Armani ad.
The steamy shoot took place in Mialn and was done by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
The video shows Victoria and David getting their hair and makeup done and shows their individual shoots as well as the one they did together.
I think these ads are fantastic and it’s always fun to get a glimpse of what happens on the other side of the camera. David and Victoria are signed on to model for Armani until 2012. I wonder what the next campaigns will look like!
Will David Beckham & Angelina Jolie Join Forces?
July 6, 2009 by Erin Balser
David and Victoria Beckham’s hot Armani photos have just been released, but rumors are already flying he’s going to partner with another sexy leading lady in the next campaign - Angelina Jolie!

““When you have David Beckham and Angelina Jolie signed up to your fashion house it’s a no-brainer to link them up,” an insider tells the tabloids. “They appeal to a diverse audience and a collaboration would create so much publicity it would push Armani head and shoulders above their rivals. There are a few contract issues to be addressed but marketing experts are being tasked with coming up with clever ideas for a print campaign.”
I think this would be amazing! Angelina is a gorgeous woman and she and David could bring a lot of heat to an ad campaign. While I do think this is only in the rumor stage right now, there’s no reason it can’t happen!
David has been a model for Armani since 2007, but they only recently scored Angelina a few weeks ago, when they signed her to a multi-million dollar three-year deal that includes being the face of their new fragrance campaign.

David & Victoria Beckham’s Fall 2009 Armani Ads
July 2, 2009 by Erin Balser
Giogrio Armani unveiled the new Emporio Armani Fall/Winter 2009 ads starring David and Victoria Beckham and boy are they hot! These ads just keep getting better and better.

Shot by renowned photographers Merta Alas and Marcus Piggott in Milan, these ads will be featured in magazines and billboards for the rest of the summer.

The couple also starred in the Spring/Summer 2009 campaign together, which you can see here. Which set of ads do you like better? I’m not the biggest fan of David and Victoria’s hair here, so the older ads win for me! I’m still excited to see the future ads David and Victoria do together, though. They’ve signed on as models for Emporio Armani until 2010.

New Book on David Beckham: The Beckham Experiment
July 1, 2009 by Erin Balser
The Beckham Experiment: How the World’s Most Famous Athlete Tried to Conquer America by Grant Wahl will hit stores in North America on July 14th. The controversial book looks at how and why David came to America to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy and the kind of impact it had on the MLS and North American soccer in general.
Wahl goes behind the scenes of what he calls “the Beckham experiment” and shows the reader how the deal went down, what it was like to move to America, how the MLS and the Los Angeles Galaxy reacted to the soccer superstar on their turf and more.
I’m not sure how much of the book explores David’s recent stint with AC Milan and the rampant rumors he’s planning to leave the Galaxy permanently once his get-out clause in his contract becomes active in November.
Regardless, it should be an interesting and insightful look into David’s world the past two years.
Sports Illustrated has an excerpt from the book online, which you can read here. It’s very interesting and gives you an idea what to expect.
The Beckham Experiment can be pre-ordered through Amazon for $16.49.

David Beckham’s Ladies Support His Campaign
June 13, 2009 by Erin Balser
David Beckham is one of the most desirable men in the world, but when it comes to unveiling his super hot Emporio Armani underwear ads, he only needs two women around - his wife, Victoria, and his mom! Both lovely ladies were on hand earlier this week when David revealed the Fall/Winter 2010 campaign at Selfridges in London.

Both women tried to keep a low profile, but couldn’t help but offer up their favorite man a congratulatory hug and kiss after the presentation.

I know David’s mom is really proud of all he has accomplished, but wouldn’t it be weird to see your son 60 feet tall and in his underwear?

David Beckham’s New Armani Ads
June 12, 2009 by Erin Balser
David Beckham unveiled his Emporio Armani ads for the Fall/Winter 2010 collection yesterday at Selfridges in London. The photos, my friend, do not disappoint. David’s abs are as hot as ever and he looks slick in these photos. I’m not keen on the slicked back ‘do, but it’s a minor point.

David Beckham Unveils New Armani Campaign
June 12, 2009 by Erin Balser
David Beckham was at Selfridges in London yesterday to unveil his latest campaign for Emporio Armani underwear and boy oh boy is it ever hot! David never lets us down with his steamy ads - when the gigantic poster of him was unveiled, the thousands of fans outside went crazy!

David looked stunning at the launch in a navy Giorgio Armani suit. After the campaign was revealed, David did a meet and greet with 300 lucky fans.

Here’s the video of the launch. The reveal is very dramatic and certainly tops Victoria’s own 20 foot poster she unveiled in New York last month!
“David has a great sense of style and is an inspiring role model – this is what makes him the perfect partner for Emporio Armani underwear,” Giorgio Armani said of David. “I am very excited that David Beckham’s new campaign image was unveiled exclusively in his home country and where better than at such an iconic retail destination as Selfridges.”
I’m sure the legions of David Beckham fans agree!

David Beckham Adidas Ad Cleared
June 10, 2009 by Erin Balser
David Beckham’s Adidas Original ad was accused for condoning anti-social behavior like graffiti. The ad, which features David and other stars like Kevin Garnett, Missy Elliott and Katy Perry at a house party, was reported to the Advertising Standards Authority because it “condoned and promoted antisocial activities”, the Guardian reports.
Adidas disagreed, arguing that the ad promoted “social activities and inclusion and that celebrities and ordinary people were celebrating together throughout the ad in a safe, respectful and inspirational way”.
Thankfully, the complaint was dismissed. “The general atmosphere was congenial and fun, without being excessive, and did not… encourage dangerous or antisocial behaviour,” the ASA said in it’s report.
I think the ad is fun, original and harmless when it was played for the appropriate audience. What do you think?

David Beckham Children’s Books Now Available
June 4, 2009 by Erin Balser
The David Beckham Football Academy has released the line of children’s books! The series follows a few plaers at the academy and the ups and downs of being an elite young soccer player.
The Guardian wrote a humorous article about the books, imagining how they would read if the Premiership was responsible for them. The actual books are about themes that run strongly in soccer - friendship, hard work, dedication, sacrifice, sharing and success.

The first three titles - Twin Trouble, Le Football and Save the Day are now available through Amazon.co.uk. Unfrounately, the series is not yet available in North America. I have my fingers crossed that it will be soon!
