A recent British study revealed that most school-age children want to be David and Victoria Beckham when they grow up. \\\\
According to a study done by the Association of Teachers and Lecturers, 53 percent of students wanted to be David and 30 percent wanted to be like Victoria.
“It reflects the current media obsession with celebrity and the effect of celebrity culture on society as a whole,” ATL general secretary, Dr. Mary Bousted, said. “However, we are deeply concerned many pupils’ believe celebrity status is available to everyone.”
We all know David and Victoria worked very hard to be where they are today. Sure, it’s frustrating to see kids looking up to celebrities, and not a diverse set of people, but at least Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton didn’t lead the list!
