Galaxy Lose to Gamba 1-0
David Beckham played the entire game, but with Landon Donovan out, it wasn’t enough to overcome Gamba Osaka. The Galaxy lost 1-0.
The lone goal was scored by striker Bare in the third minute.
“It is always disappointing when you lose the game but when you don’t start off properly that happens. For the first 15 minutes we were terrible,” David told the press after the game. “It is nice to be back on the pitch and we are still trying to get our fitness back.”
David was only supposed to play half the game, according to coach Ruud Gullit. “We thought David might only play 30 minutes because we were concerned about the artificial turf but he felt good out there so we kept him on.”
Well, that’s some good news.
The Galaxy will now play Sydney FC for third place.
