David Beckham to Play Charity Game

David Beckham will be playing in a charity game for the Galaxy! The Galaxy will play against “Hollywood United FC” at the Home Depot Center on November 4th.

Proceeds from the game will go to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army to support the California wildfires victims.

“Everyone’s expected to play, including David,” Galaxy general manager Alexi Lalas said Friday. “This is a great opportunity for our organization to do something positive for our area, our home, and for our friends and neighbors who have been impacted by these incredibly devastating wildfires.

“Our players are residents of Southern California. This is a great way through soccer for us to bring some attention and, most importantly, raise some money. And, in the process, give the people another opportunity to see the stars we have here with the Galaxy.”

The celebrity team will include Anthony LaPaglia, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Costas Mandylor, Steve Jones, Vivian Campbell, Frank Leboeuf, Richard Gough, Joe-Max Moore and Eric Wynalda. Lalas himself is also expected to take to the field.

There will also be a silent auction at the game, selling Galaxy and participating-celebrity memorabilia.
