Spice Girls to Play Baghdad?
An internet campaign was launched to send the Spice Girls to Baghdad!
The Sun writes:
The quintet face the prospect of playing Baghdad after giving fans the chance to choose the location for extra shows on their world tour.
A Internet campaign has been launched to send the girls, MEL B, MEL C, GERI HALLIWELL, EMMA BUNTON and VICTORIA BECKHAM to the war-torn Iraqi capital.
The re-formed quintet have already announced fourteen dates of their eagerly awaited comeback tour. The gigs kick off on December 2 in Vancouver, Canada before concluding in Buenos Aires in Argentina on January 24, 2008.
However, last week they declared they wanted their fans to vote for extra cities which they would visit if there was enough interest.
They said: “It’s impossible for us to perform everywhere but we thought why not let our fans decide where we play? This is your chance to turn your city into ‘Spice City’! All you need to do is tell us where you want to see us. We are literally in your hands.”
Their statement ends with the promise: “The city with the most votes will become ‘Spice City’ and we’ll definitely come and play there as part of our tour.”
